Winter Fun in Whistler for the Family
Tube Park – The Tube Park is located just above mid-station of the Excalibur Gondola and adjacent to Lot 8. Children must be at least 3 years of age and at a minimum height of 36″ or 91cm tall to tube. Children between 36″ (91 cm) to 41″ (103 cm) tall are designated to use the Mini-kids lane only from the halfway point.
Dog Sledding – includes a visit to their puppy pen! All you have to do is watch the hook up and the excitement that the dogs show by lunging and barking to know they love what they were born and bred for generations to do.
Sleigh Rides – Join us for an unforgettable sleigh tour experience in Whistler’s winter wonderland. A horsedrawn sleigh ride is a true Canadian winter outdoor tour adventure anyone of any age group can enjoy. Sleighs move on metal bottom runners that glide smoothly across the snow. Our ‘olde fashion bob-sleighs’ are designed for comfort with padded bench seats, canopies and warm blankets to cozy under.
Tobogganing at Whistler Olympic Park – The Whistler Olympic Park tobogganing hill is a favorite with visitors. Adjacent to the Ski Play Zone, with great views of the Olympic ski jumps and surrounding mountain range, the hill is a moderate slope, best suited for young children and families. The course is nearly 100 m in length with a long flat run out, and a separate pathway for the trek back up. A great activity for families looking for a safe and fun spot to play in the snow. All participants are required to wear helmets and follow the toboggan hill guidelines. Toboggans and helmets are available for rent at the Day Lodge.
Zipline – Ziptrek and Treetrek Ecotours run all year round in all weather conditions. Our minimum age to do any of our Ziptrek Tours is 6 years old. The minimum weight requirement to zip our Eagle tour is 75 lbs (32 kg), children weighing less than 75 lbs can take our Ziptrek Bear tour. Children under 65 lbs will ride tandem on Ziptrek Bear, please advise us at time of booking if you will require a tandem. Please note that we do not do tandems on Ziptrek Eagle.
Kids Climb & Dine at The Core – One of Whistler’s most popular evening programs, featuring 3 hours of climbing with other kids from around the world, supervised by our friendly guides who do all the safety work. You get time to enjoy the best of Whistler’s cuisine at your leisure. Includes: Climbing gear, Climbing guide and Dinner (pizza and drink). Ages 6-14. Reservations are required. Whistler Scavenger Hunt – You can download it from whistler.com or go to the visitor centre (involves getting your photos taken in front of various Olympic legacies, as well as with some Canadian “symbols” (Mounties, bears, totem pole)
Britannia Mine Museum – Squamish – Make a point of panning for gold. You find it, you keep it! Everyone can take part. Gold-panning troughs are set at different heights. That way, both young and old, can dip in and try their luck. This is gold panning the fun and easy way. Come wintertime, we even heat the water! Family fun is a high priority with us, so youngsters can enjoy a break in our giant sand pit or take the helm of our playground boat. The area is right beside the snack bar with washrooms nearby.
Cut Your Own Christmas Tree – Cutting your own Christmas tree in Whistler is fun for the whole family. Head over to Escape Route in Marketplace, rent some snowshoes and head off into the forest to find that perfect tree! Escape Route – 604-938-3228

Whistler Holiday Experience – Conference Centre – Dec 20 – Jan 5 – This indoor family fun zone provides entertainment for kids and parents alike during the holiday season. Kids can enjoy a mini putt course, table games, bouncy castles, crafts and video games free for 15 days over Christmas and New Year. Parents are catered for too – they can relax in the lounge area and enjoy a coffee or hot cocoa while the kids play.
